This incredibly rare 1970s quilted 3-piece set is from Design by Suliman, a 1960s and 70s boutique on Maddox Street, just off Bond Street, that specialised in bohemian style dresses and this stunning technique of hand tie dying silk in these intense jewel tones, creating amazing one-of-a-kind garments. This listing is especially exceptional as we have the full set available, allowing you to mix and match as you see fit, making this a surprisingly versatile but stand out piece for any collector. The set is made up of an ankle length A line skirt, a knee length swing style coat with amazing detailing at the cuffs and collar and a full colour fit to figure cropped jacket, all finished in quilted style. This quilted technique was a staple of the 1970s and is incredibly comfortable, but it is rare to see it done in such an eye-catching style and colour way. The acid colours in this set are amazing and incredibly vibrant against the black satin base, and are dyed in an expert manner reminiscent of the best productions Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat. This is an exceptional outfit with several notable details, including the double button detailing and shaping on the collar of the jacket and coat, hook and eye closures on the coat, bright purple lining throughout, and dyed piping that really brings this set together. This set is exceptionally well made, the quilting is light and breathable and is made from great quality satin that feels soft to the touch.
This piece is in great vintage condition.
